New/Updated Measures

• ILIAD Time 2 Short interview data (R08)
  • Our second round of ILIAD, and our eighth round of the WLS, has new data from 2,610 grad participants and 1,258 sibling participants. The released data include the Telephone Interview for Cognitive Status (TICSm) battery that is used to screen participants into a longer cognitive assessment.  We plan to include the results of the longer cognitive assessment in the next release in 2025.  With a few exceptions the Time 2 Instrument is identical to the Instrument we used at Time 1. Here is a summary of what is included in this new release.
    • New: Occurrence of and Experience with Covid diagnosis
    • Repeated Digit Ordering Task
    • Repeated Interviewer observations and characteristics
    • Repeated Letter Fluency
    • Repeated Number Series Task
    • Repeated Telephone Interview for Cognitive Status (TICSm)
    • Update of experiences of Depression
    • Update of Marriage and Cohabiting status
    • Update of self-reported health, functional health, and health conditions

• Updated Mortality Status and Cause of Death

Corrections

• Corrections to R05 Marital Status
  • We discovered an error in our measures of marital status for R05 (gc001re and cc001re).  These measures were coded as “separated” but now they are marked as “not ascertained.”
• Corrections to R06 Interviewer Observations
  • We discovered an error in two of the interviewer observation measures in the R06 round.

 

Starting with the 15.1 data we are only releasing a Stata Data-file (.dta).  Users can import these data into alternative programs as needed.
